Bamboo has many uses!
Total 26 hours on Ferry. 2 hours small boat. 8 hours on the island with BPN! We made it back on the morning of the first day of Ramadhan.
Ordering suplies in Padang
We built a bamboo treatment facility in Padang. After we harvest the bamboo in the jungle, above 500m, it is brought down here and boiled for 6 hours in a solution of water, boric acid and borax.
The nodes are pierced w a length of rebar before they are boiled. This process must happen within 72 hours of harvest. Often we work around the clock.

Bamboo dreams coming into focus
We hired a team of Balinese workers to train our guys, and this is the first house!
Draining each node, one by one as the bamboo gets pulled out, then stood up to dry for 3 weeks.
There goes the neighborhood!
